Talk#3 with Patrick

Sincerity in a religion can support progress towards the 2nd-Initiation – and occasionally reach it.
From some personal sense of the Divine, while following honestly the rules of a reasonable religion, you set up the struggle between your outer self and Inner Self. For that you don’t need to understand your complex inner psychology. All you need is the simple sense of what’s correct and what’s not correct to do. If you’re grossly greedy, frightfully fearful, or super selfish, then these gross outer emotions will be challenged by reasonable religious rules. The resulting struggle creates the conditions for the seed to the Soul to germinate. Combine that with a balanced, positive, efficient state in outer life and you have a solid basis for working towards the 2nd-Initiation.

More certain is to find a teacher with some internal growth who can guide you in your effort. Then if you are sincere and do your best to understand and follow the teaching, with time you’ll pass the 2nd-Iinitiation, that’s almost certain. When we mention that not all of my older students have reached the 2nd-Initiation, it’s mostly those who have already dropped away we are talking about.

They leave for two reasons. First is lack of intensity. When beginning inner work at a younger age people have plenty of enthusiasm and energy. That is the time to make a big effort and achieve the 2nd-Initiation, the birth of the Soul. If you don’t manage that, as you get older your outer energy will decrease while life’s responsibilities and complexities grow. If the Inner Self has not become stronger, then outer life will dominate and crush the small Inner Self. After a time the inner work will decrease and the person, lost in outer life, will fall away from the teaching or stay on mechanically without making internal progress.

Second is when I see them failing to make progress internally after 10–15 years, then I increase the pressure on them, because if left as they are they will fail completely to reach the 2nd-Iniitiation, which is no good for them and not good for the school. So I increase the pressure until they either change, or they leave. If they then begin to change, the pressure naturally reduces, but if they resist change, the pressure naturally increases to the point where they have no other choice than to leave.

For new students we encourage strong effort to change from the beginning, so they will either reach the 2nd-Initiaion or leave within the first 10 years, before their energy and enthusiasm begins to decrease. Unfortunately many of those who came to me in the earlier years had already spent 10 years practising too externally with teachers who knew little about internal evolution. These students had more difficulty changing than their students who were relative beginners.

The 1st-Initiation stabilises the connection of your Physical-Etheric Self, to the 1st Force of the Sun which links every human with the Divine. That aspect of the Intelligent Solar Being is known as your Conscience (also as the Holy deep, or the 3rd Ray) because it provides a deep sense of right and wrong. What is in harmony with it is ‘right’ and what is in disharmony with it is ‘wrong’.

Subsequent work from the 1st to the 2nd-Initiation is supported by the 2nd Force of the Sun (also known as the Son, or 2nd Ray). On a wider scale it also manages the general growth of consciousness within the solar system. Humanity as a whole is somewhere between the 1st and 2nd-Initiations. At some point all those not yet at the 2nd-Initiation will be removed from this cycle, those remaining beginning a new stage of work between the 2nd and 3rd-Initiation.

But for those now approaching or already past the 2nd-Initiation, there’s the opportunity for an accelerated development to the 3rd-Initiation. Inner work from the 2nd to the 3rd-Initiation is taken care of by the 3rd Force of the Sun (also known as the Father, or 1st Ray).

From the 2nd to the 3rd-Initiation the main work is within the Deep Emotions – which has 3 sublevels. Do your inner practices which should cause this Inner Self to grow, while you reduce the interference from negative feelings and attitudes. Look at specifically what’s blocking you, your Chief feature and its aspects. You don’t have the concept of making a perfect outer self. As long as the Inner Self is growing stronger, the more energy, the more power, the more help can come through from the Spirit.

When the Inner Self reaches the middle subsection of the Deep Emotions, the separation between outer and Inner Self becomes more strongly polarised – their paths diverge. The inner positive part is moving away from the more negative parts of the Deep Mind. The negative parts are the ego. This Inner Self starts to dominate and even project back into your normal outer life. The Inner Self actively starts to do the work for you.

Once the Inner Self reaches the upper third of the Deep Emotional, the Inner Self becomes so strong that your more minor negative aspects fall behind in importance and are less able to hold you back. Then the only 2 things that can really block you are “spiritual pride” and “power”. Not necessarily the obvious external manifestation of these 2 – more likely subtle, devious and hidden. These are countered by practising respect, gratitude and humility, towards the Divine or Deep Mental and Beyond.

Those who get to the 3rd, or even the 4th-Initiation, then assist the mass of humanity, in their very slow and general evolution. They become like shepherds to the human race. For the 3rd Force of the Sun, which is a high intelligence, to operate directly in a group, it needs to operate through somebody who has already passed the 3rd-Iinitiation. Certainly the ego still operates in that person but the balance of power will be with the Spirit.

Such teachers past the 3rd-Initiation will have a more senior teacher who is past the 4th-Initiation, in the background or possibly hidden. At the 4th-Initiation the ego is deconstructed, wiped out by the Spirit. If your teacher is past the 4th-Initiation that is a rare, extra help. If they are connected directly with the 3rd Force of the Sun, rather than the 2nd Force, that’s an extra help again.

Q: Are there other sincere pursuits in life that could lead to for example 2nd-Initiation, that are not either spirituality or religion?
P: It doesn’t have to be one of the formal religions. If a person has a simple belief in something other than the body, then they make effort to do what they feel is in harmony with that, which will mean going against some of the more basic aspects of the person, then that could in some cases be enough to do it. The major religions have achieved a monopoly, but it doesn’t have to be through one of them. Realistically there are very few religious people get to the 3rd-Initiation – it is next to impossible because it requires an additional energy that comes through from a more developed teacher. Perhaps in the Christian monasteries of the past, there might have been someone a little more developed who could help the other people towards the 3rd-Initiation. But it’s unlikely you would ever get it just by going to church. It requires the energy that comes through a more developed person.

Q: But something transcendental?
P: Yes, you have to have some concept of something other than the outer self. That can be as simple as you look up at the stars at night and you see the immensity of everything, which prevents you getting lost in this little body, in your little world. When you do that, you’re responding to your Conscience, the 1st Force of the Sun, the Spirit in you, which is what allows you to know that there’s something more than the body. But if the outer self is dominant, unbalanced, under or over educated, that can block this little inner ray of light that every person has, until after a time a person can’t feel it any more, then they become lost in the outer world.

Q: You mentioned selfishness, fear and greed and I’m wondering where the anger fits in? I think that most of us carry anger, from childhood and later life events, that we have to deal with?
P: Anger is the result of inner tension. That can arise from any of the major negativities like greed, fear or selfishness, when those negativities are frustrated in their demands.

Q: Is it only up to us to work very hard and we will reach the 3rd-Initiation or does the 3rd Force also decide who is going to pass and who is not?
P: To the best of my knowledge, everybody can reach the 3rd-Initiation in this lifetime. It’s an achievable goal for every person. That’s what takes you out of the rounds of lives and deaths. That’s why we’re here. The 3rd Force decides, but according to your intensity and sincerity.

Q: That was my question. If it’s enough just to work and work cause sometimes it seems there’s no obvious result?
P: Yes, it’s enough to work and work – while always refining your motives. I’m not saying there are no other factors. But sometimes when the conditions seem worse it calls forth a more intense struggle, then there’s a larger later result.

Q: Can you speak about the shift between the 3rd Force of the Sun and those 3 people?
P: All people have an individual ray of the 1st (Active) Force of the Sun in them. That is your Spirit. When a person passes the 3rd-Initiation they a receive a further individual ray, usually from the 2nd (Receptive) but occasionally the 3rd (Reconciling) Force of the Sun. At probably the 5th-Initiation they receive a final individual ray, which completes the 3 aspects of the Divine within.

The 2nd Force of the Solar Being, which supports the general evolution of all people, is anchored in the Physical-Etheric world through the majority of those past the 3rd-Initiation. Because of the needs of that small number of people who choose to make a special effort and strive for internal growth in this lifetime, the 3rd Force of the Sun, also needs a small number of people on the Earth past the 3rd-Initiation to anchor itself in the Physical-Etheric. At any one time, there are 3 people who have the 3rd Force of the Sun operating through them.

In the Alice A Bailey books The Tibetan said, “This is the path of Absolute Sonship,”. Shaikh Tijani Al-Hassani called them the 3 Keys of the Treasures. They may also be called the 3 Key holders, or the 3 Keepers. The head one is the Keeper of the Earth and the other 2 are assistants. The Keeper looks after the esoteric groups of the world. The 3 Keepers do exist and there’s a small advantage in this group because my teachers were connected with that Force.

Q: That old guy from 200 years ago, when he talked about the “Pole” he didn’t talk about Li Po?
P: Li Po was one of the keys of the treasure, that’s what he called it.

Q: So there’s 3 keys of the treasure and a Pole or is the Pole one of the 3 keys?
P: The Pole is the head of the teachers who are empowered by the 2nd Force of the Sun.

Q: Is this Li Po the same person who was known as Li Bai the poet in China?
P: Li Bai was perhaps the most famous poet in all of Chinese history. He lived about 700 years ago. His name in his dialect is Li Po. It is that poet Li Po who recently came again and served as the Keeper of the Earth for many decades. He died in 2013. When I talked to Master Ni about Li Po the Keeper, he said he didn’t know of him, but the next time I met him he said he had made contact with him and called him the most spiritually refined person on the Earth, then added that he’s the bridge to another world.

Q: Do you know if he was the keyholder 700 years ago?
P: I don’t know.

Q: About the outer emotions I understood that if the effect is felt predominately in the body then it is not from the Deep Emotions?
P: If there’s a strong effect on the body it may just be an outer emotion, something hormonal or generated by the nervous system, or it may be an inner one, that’s also permeated into the outer self. Sometimes the inner emotions take place and there’s no effect on the outer self at all, and other times they will stir up the outer self, so you can’t be sure.

Q: Some, when they have an experience that seems correct or think something is going in a good direction, they have a body reaction, like they can breathe more deeply or some other positive effect in the body? Could that still be a Jinn?
P: It can be from almost anything either inside yourself or outside. There would be a subtle difference according to its source which you could learn to identify with time and help from one more advanced. There is always a risk of being fooled, which you should take into account.

Q: Why is struggle so valuable in terms of moving through initiations? Is the effort and struggle more valuable in the body than outside the body or is it just a starting point for after death?
P: Initially there is no choice, it can only be done in a body, cause it has to be done on these lower levels first. You start the separation from the Physical-Etheric, then the separation grows into the Deep Emotions, later it would pass into the Deep Mental. Only when you are approaching or past the 3rd-Initiation can you continue the struggle when out of the body. Even then, you can move from the 3rd to the 4th-Initiation while you’re in a body in 21 years. But out of a body, it might take a thousand years. The conditions are quite rough here. If people are very comfortable, they don’t make the choice between the inner and the outer self. An uncomfortable life forces struggle on people who would otherwise not struggle. But simply work with whatever you’ve been given – there is no special benefit in deliberately making your life a misery.
