Deep Mind Intelligence

Spirit, in its 1st aspect as Deep Mind Intelligence, descends from its base in the Deep Mental to link delicately into the Deep Emotions and the Physical-Etheric. When Spirit takes hold in the Physical-Etheric the ‘magnetic centre’ is conceived, 1st initiation achieved.

Many lives may then pass in that state, until Spirit can gain a foot-hold in Deep Emotions – the final stage of that typically taking 4–10 years of sincere conscious effort with the help of a true teacher’s energy. Then the 2nd initiation is achieved, the birth of Soul in the heart. Most of my long-term students are between 2nd & 3rd initiation. I now teach for that level.

True intelligence versus triple-monkey-brain

When Spirit (active or 1st-Force of Sun, Conscience) first descends, true intelligence appears. That trickles down through the levels, lightly stimulating the intelligence of all levels of the Deep Mind. It’s exactly that tenuous connection from above which gives humans, above all other animals, the possibility, to choose the path of accelerated inner evolution.

When the descending connection reaches the physical neurons, superficial mind appears. The relative intelligence of animal species closely corresponds to their number of interneurons. Humans have more interneurons (85-90 billion) than most animals – about 3 times as many as the monkeys and apes (30 to 36 billion – Orangutans, Chimpanzees, Gorillas).

Without that active spiritual connection, humans are only clever animals with a triple-monkey-brain (that’s most politicians and a majority of professionals – doctors, lawyers, scientists, academics). Over-education of the superficial mind, without corresponding growth of Deep Mind, creates imbalance from which it’s difficult to break free. Undeveloped people can see only the closed set of information received by brain conscious through external senses. If the body-centred superficial mind dominates too long, it will fully obscure the light of the Soul. These people become what Sufis call ‘black hearts’– also known as the ‘walking dead’.

Due to their unbalance, superficial education and lack of Conscience, the ‘walking dead’ ruthlessly rule the physical world (Etheric is ruled by the Jinns). Physically and psychically it’s better to quietly strengthen yourself, without extending your power too actively into the wider Physical-Etheric world, or you will experience a reaction from the self-sustaining power structures in those worlds.

Superficial minds will argue it is simply our triple-monkey-brain that allows humans to rule the animal kingdom, but if that was true then elephants, with 3 times the number of interneurons of a human, would rule the land, and whales with double that again would rule the world (only elephants and whales are known to have more interneurons than humans).

The intelligence on each of the levels of the Deep Mind (Deep Mental, Deep Emotional and Deep Body or Physical-Etheric), can only evolve beyond the triple-monkey-brain (through the stages of infant, child, adolescent to adult) by attuning itself to the Deep Mind Intelligence. The resulting enhanced intelligence stands far above an educated triple-monkey-brain.

Mind Matrix Clarified

There can be more or less communication between the levels – vertically and horizontally.

1. Moving mind – Intention activates, then awareness of the action and reaction takes place, then processing reconciles (neutralises, harmonises or resolves).
2. Emotional mind – Awareness active, then processing takes place, then emotional activity.
3. Mental mind – Processing activates, thought created, then awareness of reaction to thought.

From 2nd to 3rd initiation

There are three 7-year stages in moving from 2nd to 3rd initiation. The 7 sublevels of the Deep Emotions fall into 3 corresponding parts. From below, sublevels 1, 2, 3 occupy the 1st 7-years, then 3, 4, 5 the 2nd 7-years, finally 5, 6, 7 the 3rd 7-years.

The lower part (sublevels 1-3) responds to what is below it (Physical-Etheric). It is influenced by what the body and brain perceive. You work on this level by refining your rough internal responses to the troubles and demands of both outer life and your body.

The middle part (sublevels 3-5) responds both to the higher 3 and the lower 3 sublevels. It is influenced directly by your (often unconscious) Deep Emotional interactions with those to whom you are closely connected. You work on this level by learning to replace self-centred reactions to others with positively giving, receiving and sharing in your personal relationships, rather than reacting from the lower part which is under the pressure of external troubles. If you don’t work actively against selfishness you won’t progress past this level.

The upper part (sublevels 5-7) responds to the lower 3 sublevels of the Deep Mental. You work on this level by aspiring to connect with and respond to what is above. Then learning to express in personal relationships and outer life, what flows through from above in response.

Effort at each Stage

First stage requires mainly your external effort. Second stage is 50/50 your effort and help from your Inner Self. Third stage is mostly done from above. Grace, the help from above, can only flow down in proportion to the refinement of the 3 parts of the Deep Emotions.

All stages overlap. During 2nd stage can also begin work on connection to Deep Mental. During 3rd stage most of your work shifts to preparing Deep Mental, ready for 3rd initiation.

Although the 3rd initiation is the certain stage where you don’t need to return to a body, in the 3rd stage or even well into the 2nd, may allow you to consciously work on in the Deep Emotional level after death, when there will be no need to return to Earth in a Physical body.

Type A, B, C influences (Gurdjieff teaching)

Type A influences are created from the ‘bright ideas’ of over-confident superficial minds. They target your physical-etheric brain. No matter how smart or educated, undeveloped people believe they are, they cannot produce Type C, or even B, influences. The best they can do is discuss and analyse type B influences, look for their faults and deny their truths. Don’t let brain consciousness, yours or other peoples, pull your understanding down to its level.

Type B influences are the expression of Type C influences in outer life, distorted by beliefs of the age (physiology, psychology, philosophy & religion) along with ‘bright ideas’ from those projecting these B influences. Their message is in plain view, embedded in music, art, science and religious parables, but perceived only by those “with eyes to see and ears to hear”.

Type C influences flow down from above to assist the evolution of humanity. They are given out by those past the 4th initiation (Human#5), via those past the 3rd (Human#4). They are available to those who work consciously on internal refinement and growth.

Teaching Level

Type A influences receive little inner support.
Type B influences receive some support from above.
Type C influences have a living source that supports the teaching and those who train it.

You can’t tell the level of a teaching by its external appearance – how complex, how simple or how elegant. You can only tell by its source. Ramana Maharshi’s was simple, Gurdjieff’s was complex, Abdullah Dougan’s was balanced, Master Huang’s was methodical, Mouni Maharaj’s was abstract – yet their teachings were all Type C influences supported from above.

My teaching is synthesised only from type C influences. I ruthlessly excluded type A influences. I did my best not to let type B influences distort my understanding. That required constantly seeking correction from various Human#5 (or advanced Human#4) – Abdullah, Master Huang, Mouniji, Master Ni, and now LiPo.

All my teachers felt many of their students had diluted and distorted the essence of the teaching, by mixing it in with Type A or Type B influences (usually to make it more acceptable and more marketable). The main thing interfering with the C influences flowing down from above, are these distorted teachings that spread like a virus on the Earth.
